Here in Sam Roi Yod locals woke up early to cut back the tall grasses growing alongside the roadways and to prepare for the festivities of the day.

Locals put on their Sunday best (often yellow shirts to show support for the monarchy) bought cakes for sale at the local markets, and buzzed with excitement about the parties and fireworks to come this evening.
Happy Thai Father’s Day Dad’s and Happy Birthday to King Bhumibol Adulyadej!
