Dark Side of the Lens – the Beauty of the Photographer

Whether you risk broken bones and hypothermia to document surfing or capture images of elusive animals in extreme environments, this video by Astray Films beautifully shows you why we do what we do as photographers and journalists. The imagery is just drop dead gorgeous, and with statements such as:

“Most people don’t know who we are, what we do, or how we  do it. Let alone want to pay us for it,”

“If I only scrape a living, at least it’s a living worth scraping,”

“If there’s no future in it, at least it’s a present worth remembering,”

how can you not want to see what they’re talking about? Even if you don’t care a lick about the words, the imagery is well worth the look. Just enjoy the dolphins, rocky coasts, killer waves and flocks of seabirds.

You can almost feel the waves wash over you. Enjoy your Friday!
